Pets at Our Rescue Group:

About Our Rescue Group:

German Shepherd Rescue is a no-kill shelter dedicated to saving and finding homes for purebred German Shepherd Dogs.

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization run by volunteers and funded entirely by donations and adoption fees.

Come Meet our Pets:

Our Burbank shelter houses 25 to 30 dogs while they are waiting to be adopted. Additional dogs are in foster homes or boarding facilities.

Please check out our web site for the location and visiting hours of our Burbank shelter or for the schedule of adoption events that we will be attending throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego counties.

Our Adoption Process:

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out our application, which does NOT obligate you to adopt. It is to provide us with information about your situation and what you are looking for in a dog so that we can help you further. You can find our online application at our web site on the "About Us" page.

Once you submit your application, one of our adoption coordinators will contact you to review your application. A home visit will then be scheduled to help you to ensure that the environment is safe for a large-breed dog.

A minimum donation of $250 will be asked when an adoption is approved.

Please do not submit an application if you do not live in Southern California or are not serious about adopting a German Shepherd Dog.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
