Licking for a Good Home Dog Rescue

Dogs will love you unconditionally, whether you are rich or poor, fat or skinny, showered or unshowered, sick or healthy, happy or sad. They do not judge you, question you, talk back, talk down to you, yell at you, or ask you for money. They do not have a voice of their own and many times are treated unfairly. As many as we can save is better than saving none at all. Our goal is to take these dogs in, try to break some of their bad habits, housebreak and socialize them, and find them great homes as soon as possible. We take from shelters and off the street. We usually do not take personal surrenders.

Most people want to give their dogs away because of a behavior problem when most of the time, the problem can be corrected with the proper training of the dog and the person on how to treat the dog. If someone is moving and cannot take the dog, think, would you move and leave your children behind? Probably not. Your dog is part of the family just the same and when you took him or her on, you knew this was a lifelong commitment, not a relationship out of convenience. Your dog doesn't let you down, so don't let your dog down. It's not that hard to find a place that accepts animals.

We take in mostly dogs about to be euthanized at the shelter and they almost always turn out to be the greatest pets. We wish people were half as grateful as my dogs are.

I am not in it for any reason other than it's where my heart is at!

Rescue FAQs

We adopt dogs anywhere in the US, providing a home visit has been performed and the references all check out. We are located in Spartanburg, SC and prefer to adopt to the Northeastern US.

Additional adoption info

Each dog has a fee based on the vet expenses, spay/neuter, shots, and all of the associated expenses. It also depends on how long we have been holding the dog. The fee is usually about $125 and that includes the alter, shots, heartworm test, microchip, and 1 month heartworm preventative. That's not too bad when you think about what it would cost to take a dog to the vet to have all of that done. We also need to cover our expenses, such as dog food, treats, kennels, crates, heartworm preventative, collars, leashes, medicines, etc.
