Additional adoption info

Once you have decided on a pet that you believe would make a wonderful match for you, your home and your lifestyle, please contact our rescue organization for an adoption application which can be emailed or mailed to you. Once you have completely filled out the application, we review the form in order to determine the right match for you and the pet. After your adoption application has been approved, an appointment can be set up for you and your family to meet the pet. A contract must be signed prior to adopting the pet out at the meeting. A follow-up call is usually conducted a month after the adoption to make sure that everything is running smoothly with your new addition. Adoption fees are normally $75. An increase of our fees is based upon the size or age of the pet and whether it it a purebred or not. Our adoption fee package includes shots, rabies, heartworm test, fecal exam, Frontline application, spay/neuter, bath/grooming, and the pet's first heartworm pill. For cats, the fee covers its shots, rabies, feline leukemia test, feline aids test, Frontline application and spay/neuter.

About Lifelong Adoptions and Rescue

We are a small group of caring animal lovers who rescue both homeless dogs and cats from pounds/shelters across Ohio who are in danger of being euthanized or gassed. We deal with both purebred and mixed breeds. It's very sad to see so many dogs and cats at pounds nowadays who are homeless or who may not be adopted/saved. We do are best to rescue and to make a difference in as many lives as possible due to space and available resources. We try to rehabilitate through love and care and rehome our rescues to the most loving and most suitable homes that will last for a lifetime. Although it is impossible to save them all, it really makes the difference in that one cat or dog's life to find that one special home. We are happy to be doing what we love to do for animals by finding them wonderful homes and by reaching out to people and letting them know that adopting a rescue is so much more important than buying a dog/cat from a breeder or a petshop.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
