Dog adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog and you'll have a friend for life!
Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We do not adopt our animals to families with toddlers. Toddlers are too young to truly understand the consequences of falling on a dog, pulling an ear or tail, taking a bone or toy from a dog's mouth, etc. Even if the dog is raised in your own home from a puppy, you can never predict how the dog is going to react to these situations until they happen. Many times it is the fault of the child and not the fault of the dog, but the dog is the one who ends up in the pound when it growls or snaps at a child in self defense. p We are not a shelter or a kennel. We are a small group of people who dedicate our hard-earned money and spare time to saving dogs from euthanasia. Our dogs are all housed in our homes where they are evaluated to determine the type of homes they need. All of our dogs can tested for temperament, compatibility with other animals, and compatibility with children.
DON'T TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE COUNTY DOG POUND! We serve Trumbull and surrounding county residents in EMERGENCIES to save a dogs life before it goes to the pound..

About Our Rescue Group
We are a small group of local and virtual volunteers helping Trumbull Co Residents STOP THEIR PETS or STRAYS found from going to the Trumbull Co Dog Pound! Please call us first, this is not a good place for your dog to be. The pound has parvo monthly, they don't disinfect, the dogs die in 3 days if their is no space, they don't adopt out pit bulls. They do not kennel the dogs properly, there is no safe care for puppies, they are not feed or kenneled safely. Un-neutered males are put in with un-spayed females. This pound has had some improvements to the building but not to the dogs care and handling while housed at the pound.
Since 1969 Animal Welfare League was formed because the POUND WAS SO BAD and no changes were being made. Now some changes but the care of the animals and protection from catching deathly diseases or being attacked by another dog in the run with it has not improved enought to mention it as an improvement.
Come Meet our Pets
We are a small group of volunteers holding dogs in our homes or kennels until we find an adopter. We need more help, if you can volunteer for anything, just driving the dog to the vets for an exam, please contact us. When you volunteer with us all items you will need are donated and we supply you and pay all the cost involved.
DONATIONS, if you have any gently used dog items, or unopened flea/tick & heartworm preventions, please help us by donating them to save the strays and dogs in danger of going to the county dog pound. petpaws4u@aol.com
Our Adoption Process
We require all rescues or private adopters to submit an application for approval. We do not adopt out dogs un-neutered or un-spayed. Our dogs are up to date on all shots, examined, de-wormed, heartworm tested and loving cared for until their adoption or going to a rescue group. Our adoption fees run between $150 and $350 to cover the cost to do all this and care for them until adopted. We also can help with some transportation to get the dog safely to you if you do not live in the area.

Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and
you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog
or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes.
Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they
think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from
a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage
people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA,
humane society or pet rescue group.
