About Our Rescue Group:

City Kitties is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill cat rescue dedicated to saving and improving the lives of stray cats in the West Philadelphia area.

What makes adopting from City Kitties different?
We provide the highest-quality veterinary care for our foster cats and kittens. Since they live in foster homes, you can see our adoptable animals in a familiar, stress-free environment, and their foster parents can tell you all about their personalities. If you have questions a week, a month, or even a year after adoption, we're available for guidance and
support.

Come Meet our Pets:

City Kitties is not a shelter and we do not have a central facility. We operate out of a small network of foster homes and are completely volunteer-run. Please visit our website to view animals available for adoption, fill out an adoption application, or email us with questions.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption process requires submission of an online application. Once we receive it, we will contact you by email to inform you of the next steps, which include:

-vet reference or personal references, where applicable
-landlord check if applicable
-meet and greet in the foster home
-home visit

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
