Riverside Dachshund Rescue & Sanctuary

Riverside Dachshund Rescue Society is a Southern California organization of volunteers that seeks to rescue abandoned, abused, neglected, and unwanted dachshunds and dachshund mixes, provide necessary veterinary and behavioral care for them, and place them in homes where they will be a perfect fit.As an all-volunteer group, we share access to a website, transport and foster help, information about dogs needing help, and general support. As independent rescuers, we maintain control over how we rescue and place our foster dogs. One of our primary goals is raising money to help our doxies, as well as other rescue groups and shelters, care for dogs that require medical treatments that cannot be covered by adoption fees. By working together on fundraising, we are able to offer financial assistance grants to many needy dogs, rather than relying primarily on set adoption fees as the source of income.

Additional adoption info

THANK YOU for your interest in adopting a dachshund from Riverside Dachshund Rescue! In order to determine which dachshund is most compatible for you and your family, we require all adopters to:
1. COMPLETE this form. The questions on this form were designed to determine which of our rescue dachshunds would best suit your needs, lifestyle and experience. Please complete the entire form and email or mail it to us. After we review your application, we’ll contact you.
2. SCHEDULE a home check, a time when one of our representatives can visit your home and meet you, the other residents of your home and any other pets that might live with you.
3. SIGN a binding contract that outlines what RDR requires of its adoptive parents.
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADOPTER you must be 21 years of age or older, have identification showing your present address and, if you rent your home, have the prior knowledge and consent of your landlord.
WE REQUIRE AN ADOPTION FEE, which helps us cover the boarding and medical expenses the dachshund incurs. Our adoption fees vary according to the age, health and needs of each dachshund.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS please don’t hesitate to ask!
