Our mission is to serve the people of Jasper County, South Carolina by providing shelter and humane care to dogs and cats that are lost, abandoned, neglected or abused; placing adoptable dogs and cats in good homes with caring people; reducing the population of stray and neglected dogs and cats by promoting and providing spaying and neutering; and providing educational material and learning opportunities concerning the proper care and treatment of pets.

About Our Shelter:

The shelter is in Ridgeland, SC and is open Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Closed on Mondays.)

The first Saturday of each month, we are at Petco in Bluffton, SC from 11am-3pm.
The second, third, and fourth Saturday of each month, we are at Petsmart in Beaufort, SC from 11am-3pm.

Our hardworking volunteers take a select group of dogs and cats to these events and are knowlegeable about the available pets back at the shelter.

We are located at 1352 Carters Mill Road, Ridgeland, SC. Just a short drive from Savannah, GA; Hilton Head Island, Beaufort and Bluffton, SC.

Our Adoption Process:

An adoption agreement and contract is required along with a $125.00 for dogs and $100.00 for cats for the adoption fee. The Adoption fee includes microchipping, the spay / neuter cost plus age appropriate shots.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
