About Our Rescue Group:

Western Border Collie Rescue (WBCR) is an all-volunteer organization working in and around the beautiful states of Wyoming and Colorado. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Border Collies that have been abandoned, neglected or are no longer able to remain in their current home. WBCR works hard to place adoptable dogs into appropriate forever homes, making the best match possible between the dog and the adopter(s), and also works to educate the public on the characteristics and needs of Border Collies.

Our Adoption Process:

1- Do your homework! Make sure a Border Collie is the right breed for you. (See Links we Like at the bottom of this box!)
2- Complete & Submit an Application
3- Have a home visit with one of our volunteers who can answer all your questions about Border Collies and our rescue.
4- Meet the dog(s) that you are interested in and would be a good match for your home.
5- Adopt! Fill out the necessary paperwork and take home your new pup! We are here to help you though the transition of settling your new dog into your home. We have mentors within the rescue to help you and your new dog with a successful adoption!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
