We serve all of Morrison County. We also adopt out to all counties and states, as long as the adopter comes to our shelter (we do not ship animals).

About Our Shelter:

The Morrison County Animal Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 non profit organization. We serve Little Falls and the surrounding towns and townships in Morrison County, to take care of the homeless and unwanted animals.
We take in the animals that have no home or are found wandering around. The animals are held for 5 days which is their stray period. Once that is over they are vaccinated, examined, and put up for adoption. We do have a spay neuter clinic twice a month and animals in the shelter that need to be altered will be at that time.
We are here so that no animal has to be left out in the elements with no one to love them, we believe all animals should have a chance to find their forever homes.

Our Adoption Process:

To adopt from our humane society we need to know if you rent or own you home. If you rent we do need to confirm with your landlord that you are able to have a pet. If you have other pets they do need to be altered and current on vaccines.
We have a return exchange policy that needs to be read and signed so that we know the adopter understands the policy.
We then have our adoption contract wich states a number of different things about the animal, what to expect, and that once the animal is adopted it is fully the adopters resposability and the animal must be spayed or neutered within a certain amount of time.
Our adoption fees vary, animals that are already altered will have a higher price, as well as small breed dogs, and some others. Our adoption fees start at $43.00 and can be up to $200.00.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
