Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:
We serve all of Portage County, OhioAbout Our Shelter:
We are a private, not-for-profit humane society in Portage County, Ohio. To this end we seek to shelter and find homes for sick, injured, abused, and abandoned domestic animals that have no other alternatives; reduce pet over-population through spay/neuter programs; and prevent cruelty by enforcing animal protection laws and conducting educational programs. All of our pets are vet checked, up-to-date with shots, altered, and heartworm-free. Cats are tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS as well.
Our Adoption Process:
The adoption fee for kittens is $75; cats 6 months to 7 years is $60; senior cats over 7 years old are $30 and any cat considered special needs is half off the original adoption price. The adoption fee for puppies is $150; dogs 7 months to 7 years is $125; senior dogs are $65; and purebred dogs are $200. We have an adoption agreement to fill out and offer a free vet examination at designated Portage County clinics within five days of adoption.Adult animals will be altered before adoption. If you adopt an animal that is too young to be altered, you will need to sign a contract agreeing to have alteration performed at the appropriate age. The cost of alteration is included in the adoption fee.
We also sell low-cost Friends of Animals spay/neuter certificates for your other pets.
