Westie Rescue of North Texas
About Our Rescue Group
Westie Rescue of North Texas exists solely to rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned, neglected, homeless and surrendered West Highland White Terriers.

Our charges are provided with the attention, care and medical treatment necessary, including spaying/neutering, until a permanent home can be found.

Through the commitment of our volunteers, WRNT also focuses on education of the public regarding puppy mills and responsible dog ownership, including spaying/neutering, training and humane care of Westies and other pets.

WRNT is a Federal 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Corporation.

WRNT is incorporated in the State of Texas as a not-for-profit corporation.

All donations made to WRNT will be used exclusively in the furtherance of our Mission. No Director or Volunteer is ever compensated for their efforts.

Only expenses directly related to our Mission are authorized to be paid and a full accounting of all financial activities is available for public viewing and will soon be available on our website.

Come Meet our Pets
Westie Rescue of North Texas does not have a central kennel. All of our Westies are placed in foster homes provided by our volunteers.
Our Adoption Process
Fees are based on the age of our dogs. We require an on line or printed and mailed adoption application.

WRNT will search for a new "Forever Home" for every Westie accepted into Rescue. Our goal is to place every Westie in a loving home.
WRNT maintains an active list of Forever Parents eager to provide a loving home to a rescued Westie.
Westies are NOT for everyone. They're not lap dogs and they're not always suitable for small children. If you want an active, eager member of the family, then consider a Westie. While small on the outside, the Westie is imbued with an overabundance of spirit. Intelligent and inquisitive, Westies demand to be "in the thick of things" and won't settle for less.

WRNT requires all prospective adopters to sign and understand our policy with regard to adoption: All WRNT Westies are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. No WRNT Westie will ever be used for breeding purposes. No WRNT Westie will ever be sold, given, loaned or otherwise provided to a commercial entity for any reason whatsoever. In the event an adoptive parent can no longer care for their Westie, WRNT stands ready to bring that Westie back into the program. Once a Westie has passed through the WRNT program they will ALWAYS have a home with us.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
