Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We are a branch of the Nova Scotia SPCA and follow their policies as well as consult with them in sensitive animal situations. ( ex/ investigations of curelty or neglect) Since we do not yet have a shelter much of our fundraising goes to the building of housing abandoned and abused cats and dogs. We take in these animals now but only when fostering is available. We serve the Clare region along the bay of st. mary.

La BAIE SPCA
About Our Rescue Group
We have been a branch of the NS SPCA for five years now. Our main mandate is to build an animal shelter to house the many unwanted animals in our area. Fundraising is very important to us and we hold many seasonal events throughout the year to bring in the interest of the people . Finding homes for the many dogs and cats is ongoing with our branch. Educating the public on importance of neutering/spaying animals is a top priority. We follow the main branch guidelines of the NSSPCA.
Come Meet our Pets
We do not have a shelter so events are held in various locations throughout the year. All our pets are fostered in private voluteer homes. We post our animals up for adoption on our website as well as posters in the area.
Our Adoption Process
All our animals we take in are first taken to a vet where they are first accessed and given essential care. Then thet are fostered until a suitable adoptee is found. They are required to sign an adoption form and must abide by our regulations. most of our animals are neutered or spayed and if not ready the adopter must agree to carry that out. We give a $30. credit for kittens needing spay/neutering. Generally we ask for a donation of 150. for a dog and 45. for a cat. Our most important message is to spay/ neuter your pets.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
