We are a no kill shelter for dogs and cats located on 20+ acres in rural southern IL. We are a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. We provide food and shelter to surrendered animals and work tirelessly to place them in the best homes possible. Everyone on our staff works on a volunteer basis.

Rescue FAQs

We are a no kill shelter located in Centralia, IL serving the entire rural community of southern IL, but we will provide adoptions to all qualified persons adoptiong outside of our area.

Additional adoption info

In order for you to adopt, you must be 21 or older.
All members of the household must be present, including any other dogs you currently own, in order to do a final adoption. (Cats do not have to come to the shelter. We will cat test here because we know how stressful it is on the cats to be transported)
Dogs and cats taht you currently own must be current on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to visiting the shelter or any adoption.
Fill out the Online Application and submeit-Vet Reference is necessary if you have owned a pet/
Any adoption MAY be subject to a "home check" prior to finalization.
We do not allow anyone to put a dog or cat "on hold" without a deposit which may be non refundable.
Adoption Donations for dogs and puppies range from $75-$250 (you will know in advance the cost) Most of the donation amounts are published within the profile.
Adoption Donations for cats and kittens range from $50-$125.
Many older dogs and cats have reduced adoption donations which are listed on their individual profiles on the "Adoptable Dogs" or "Adoptable Cats" page.
If you are a Senior Citizen, please call or email to ask about Senior to Senior Probram. When people 65 years or older, with approved application, adopt a pet 8 years or older the adoption donation is waived!
We have adoptions seven days a week starting at 11 am through 7 pm. We accept phone calls 9 am through 6 pm. If no aswer please leave a message. We live on the premisis so please respect our privacy. We are more than glad to arrange in advance visits and adoptions that are not within the specified hours.
We spay/neuter, microchip, hearworm test or Fe LV/FIV test and give vaccinations to all animals. They are also all on heart worm medication and Frontline Plus every month while in our care.
We do expect that when you adopt a cat/kitten that they be taken home in a proper Carrier.
No one is allowed into the kennel area. Prospective companions will be brought to you so that you can evaluate each choice. Suggestions will be made to meet the perfect match for your family.
Please remember that all members of the family must be present for a final adoption.
