The Habersham County Animal Shelter is staffed by 2 full time and one part time employee who receive and care for an average of 213 animals monthly.
The shelter provides safe haven for stray and abandoned animals, and makes every effort to find good homes for available cats and dogs. We hope both County residents, and non-residents, will choose the adoption- option for our deserving pets,
We are nestled behind the Clarkesville Fairgrounds off of Hwy 17/ GA115.( if you see the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center, we are right across the road). We enjoy a quiet atmosphere in a welcoming County that provides both great country hospitality and beautiful scenery.

The adoption fee is $70.00-$80.00 for cats and kittens. Sometimes we have two-for-one promotions also ! The fees include at least one set of vaccinations and deworming, microchipping, the spay or neuter, rabies vaccination, and a limited health insurance plan !
**If the animal is not spayed/neutered, it needs have the surgery after official adoption, but before leaving the shelter.
