About The Green Mile Dog Rescue Inc.

We are a non-profit dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of large breed dogs on Florida's Green Mile(Death Row)We do not have a facility and rely solely on fosters. Although we will help any breed, our main focus is large breed dogs including rare Mastiffs-Neapolitan,Fila Brasileiro,Dogo Argentino,Cane Corso's,Presa Canario, Boerboel, Tibetan Mastiff, and Leonberger. We also take in Bully Breeds(English Bulldog,English Bull Terriers, etc.) We visit shelters and seek out these breeds that are hours sometimes minutes from being euthanized. We will also accept owner surrenders when we have sufficient fosters.

I do this because they have no voice,no choice for the circumstance that they are in and many times no hope left when i find them.To see their faces when they hit the front door of that shelter and know that they have been spared is an unexplainable feeling.I have shed many tears for the one's i've had to leave behind, but move on knowing more will need me in days, weeks and months to come.I have dedicated my life to the welfare of animals.I have worked in rescue for 20+ years and have pulled and helped to place thousands of dogs over that time.My hope is that one day my services will not be needed.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
