About Our Rescue Group:

The Silver Lining for Pit Bulls is a small group of volunteers who are dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for American Staffordshire Terriers ("AmStaffs") and American Pit Bull Terriers ("Pit Bulls") from high kill shelters around the country. We do deal with all breeds but our main focus is on helping to rescue, rehabilitate (when needed) and find good, loving homes for Pit Bulls.

We do not have a shelter or kennel facility. We are scattered across the US and Canada. Our dogs live in foster homes with foster families while waiting for a family to call their own.

Our Adoption Process:

We require all potential adopters to complete a questionnaire, and to provide personal and vet references, once all references are complete we schedule a home check.

Our most basic and most important requirement is that you agree to love and care for the dog you adopt for the rest of it's life.

Our contract is signed upon adoption, and states that you will never give away, sell, mistreat, abuse the animal.

Our adoption fee is $175.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
