About New Journeys Animal Rescue

New Journeys is a not for profit rescue group committed to saving pets from kill and crowded no kill shelters to find them good homes. Through our foster homes, we provide shelter, food, medical care as well as socialization and training to become good pets. Some dogs are with us longer than others, and may be more trained and socialized. Each dog is given necessary medical and preventative care, such as vaccinations, dewormings, and heartworm medication.
We treat these pets as well as our own, sparing little expense on their care and well being. In some cases veterinary care, medicines, treatments and food exceeds the fee for the adoption.
We also strive to give affection in the form of petting, belly rubs, hugs and kisses to reassure the pet of human kindness. It is rewarding, when we stop petting the dog, and he responds, by patting us with his paw asking for more.

Some pets will be spayed or neutered and the fee will be adjusted accordingly. We are not beneficiaries of any governmental low cost services. If they are not neutered prior to adoption, there will be a spay/neuter deposit returned upon proof of surgery.

Please contact us by email, and we will send you an application, and answer questions. After the application is reviewed and references are checked, you will be contacted. Please allow one to 5 days to review and reach all references. Once approved, please respond when you would be available to meet the pet, and take him home. Since these pets are fostered in individual homes, arrangements must be made to coordinate schedules.

Upon adoption, you will be asked to sign a contract. This form is available on request also.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
