About Our Shelter:

ARF is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) all volunteer organization. Our current facility is a shelter to 35-45 rescue cats/kittens and our rescue dogs are kept in foster homes. We have 18 acres of land puchased for the future site of our rescue/adoption sanctuary and a 5-acre membership dog park. We are raising funds to construct the sanctuary.

We do not receive any monetary assistance from city, county or state agencies. Our rescue/adoption facility is operated by volunteers who are willing to open their hearts to care for those who have been abandoned.

We believe that the spay or neuter of pets is the only solution to pet overpopulation.

Come Meet our Pets:

ARF is open Monday through Saturday from 1pm - 4pm or by appointment. Visit our web site to view pets available for adoption or lost/found pets in our area.

Our Adoption Process:

You must visit ARF's facility in Bartlesville to meet the pet you are interested in adopting. An adoption application is required (available on our web site) including 2 reference (non-family) which are checked and potential adopter must agree to a home visit if requested. A 3-day waiting period is required before taking the pet home. This allows ARF to get any remaining vaccinations needed and the adopter to prepare for their new family member's home coming! Plus, we want the adopter to be certain they are willing to commit to the decision to adopt.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
