Miss Vicki's Parrot Village, Inc. is a small, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, licensed parrot rescue and sanctuary. We are located approximately 15 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia. We rescue, rehab, and rehome birds and parrots of all sizes and ages.

About Our Shelter:

Parrots are complicated creatures, and they require specialized environments, veterinary care, and socialization. Combine these challenges with the length of time that a bird can live, and you have the need for rescue.

We take in birds of all sizes because many people took on a task that is sometimes impossible, and that is creating an environment that recreates the wild needs of a bird while keeping that bird in captivity.

Our ultimate goal is to help people keep their birds, but our secondary goal is to educate the public and adoptive families about what birds need before they take them home.

Come Meet our Pets:

Our adoption hours are by appointment only. We schedule visits two hours apart, and the birds get one day off for every day of 3+ visitors, so scheduling early and arriving on time will give the the best chance at meeting all of the birds here and having the chance to ask questions, etc.

Weekends are the busiest, so we rarely schedule visits on Mondays or Tuesdays, but we are willing to do so, if needed.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption process is straightforward and simple, and we welcome the opportunity to work with you through the process. Each bird adoption requires an application, contract, and fee. Most birds also require home visits.

Our support does not end at the adoption. We are here to help you with your new feathered family member from here on out. We provide training, behavior advice, wing trims, and nail trims at no additional charge to all adopted birds.

Why should you adopt?

birds can make wonderful pets, and rather than buying a bird for sale or finding a bird breeder, adopting a bird from an animal shelter or rescue organization is the perfect way to add a bird to your family. Keep in mind, there is a lot you will need to know when you provide a home for a bird. You will need to learn what to feed them, how much exercise or attention your bird needs, and many other important things about how to house and care for a bird. There are different types of birds including African Grey, Amazon, Brotogeris, Budgie, Button Quail, Caique, Canary, Chicken, Cockatiel, Cockatoo, Conure, Dove, Duck, Eclectus, Emu, Finch, Goose, Guinea Fowl, Kakariki, Lorikeet, Lovebird, Macaw, Mynah, Ostrich, Parakeet - Other, Parakeet - Quaker, Parrotlet, Parrot - Other, Peacock, Pheasant, Pigeon, Pionus, Poicephalus (including Senegal and Meyer's), Quail, Rhea, Ringneck, Rosella, Softbill - Other, Swan, Toucan, and Turkey.
