Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:Franklin County Animal Control is located in Louisburg, NC approx 33-45 minutes North of Raleigh. We are operating out of a new facility that houses dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Animals that enter our shelter are brought in either as strays or as owner relenquish and are cared for by our animal control officers and volunteers each day.
About Our Shelter:We are a county run facility and we operate out of a new building that is about 3 years old. All together, Franklin County Animal Control has about 6 officers and a dedicated group of volunteers who clean and upkeep our facility, and who also spend time eith all of our dogs and cats to get them ready for adoption or rescue. We have a nice fenced in area outside where dogs can run, play, and be socialized and is where we get a sense of what their personalities are like. Our facility has about 40 dog kennels, a puppy visiting room, 25 cat kennels, and a kitty visiting room!
Come Meet our Pets:Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday 10:00am-5:00pm Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm.
Please visit www.franklincountync.us and click on Animal Control to view pet list! This will bring you to Petfinder.com, where you will see the pets in our care. Animals are brought into our facility each and everyday so please check the website frequently. If you are local, it would be great for you to come into our shelter to see all of our pets that are here and waiting for their new homes. We try and list them as soon as possible but ther are always new faces to be seen. If local, please stop in and walk thru to see all of our available animals.
Our Adoption Process:Adoption Fee is $25.00. There is also a $50.00 spay/neuter deposit that is fully refundable once you show proof if the spay/neuter has been completed. Proof of the surgery can be either be mailed, faxed, or brought in.
For rescue groups with 501c3, the adoption fee is waived so only $5.00 for a rabies shot is due. We have began to compile a rescue group database so please call Kathy to get your rescue information added.
