About Our Rescue Group:

The Pit Stops Here is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary and ultimately rehome abandoned, neglected and abused Pit and Pitbull mixes. We are devoted to giving each dog a healthy foster environment while evaluating each individual dog's personality and temperament. These efforts enable us to place them in homes that are best suited for their needs. TPSH is passionately dedicated to the advocacy and public education of no-kill alternatives for these intelligent, loving and loyal dogs. We believe all dogs are individuals, and every dog deserves enrichment and a chance to shine.

Our Adoption Process:

In order to adopt from The Pit Stops Here you first fill out a adoption form, then you come and meet the potential new family member and if you hit it off we setup a home visit to make sure your house is a safe and secure environment for our furry friends. After the home check we will transport you’re new friend to you. There will be a 7 day grace period where you can evaluate and fall in love with your new furry friend. There is a contract and a $200 fee for the adoption.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
