Additional adoption info

The Application/Adoption process requires:
- A completed and approved application.
- A home check/safety visit of yard and home by a volunteer.
- One week trial period provided to potential adopter [see if pet is a good fit]
- Adoption Fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, Spay or Neuter & Microchip.
- A separate Adoption Agreement to be reviewed and signed by potential adopter. Our adopters must fill out an adoption application. We then set up a meet and greet. If all goes well an a match is made, then we do a home safety check. If there are any issues with areas in the home that need to be fixed prior to adoption, we follow to make sure home is secure on the day of adoption.
-We follow up with an adoption agreement, and give the adopter a one week trial to make sure it's a perfect fit. If adopter and dog do not make a match, we take the dog back and refund the adoption fee.

About Precious Pals Pet Rescue

Precious Pals Pet Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue organization who specializes in rescuing death row dogs from the Los Angeles City and County Shelters.

We are a ALL FOSTER based rescue. None of our dogs live in a boarding facility.

We have a deep love for saving animals who have been abandoned, neglected and surrendered by their owners at the shelters. We also help in rehoming animals whose owners can no longer care for their beloved pet and don't want to put surrender them to the shelter.

All of our rescues are fully vetted prior to adoption and our adoption fee covers, spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchip.

Our adoption process involves filling out a detailed adoption application prior to setting up a meet and greet. There is an adoption agreement to be signed upon the date of adoption along with the adoption fee.

Our rescue is solely funded by donations and our adoption fees. We welcome donations via our website and our amazon wish list.

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Santa Monica, CA.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
