About Our Rescue Group:

Eloise Rescue was started by Vickie Wagner, because she just could not sit back and watch innocent dogs being put down for no reason other than there is just no room for them. She had no idea how she would do this, but it started with a German Shepherd named Willow after she looked into those big brown eyes and said it is time to do something. She went to the shelter the next day and met with Willow, whom they said was what they call "rescue only" (meaning the dog could be aggressive). Vickie Wagner sat on the floor with Willow, who took one look at her and laid down in her lap and sighed a breath of relief. From that moment on she knew what she was supposed to do: SAVE THESE DOGS. Eloise Rescue was born on that day, and in the time Vickie has been rescuing, she has saved over 1000 dogs to date.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
