Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Lycoming County, Pennsylvania and surrounding counties
We provide low cost spay/neuters for cats, pets, strays and ferals.

About Our Rescue Group:

Beckoning Cat Project is a group determined to find community based solutions for cats. Sadly there are thousands of cats euthanized each year in Lycoming County alone due to overpopulation. We are committed to providing means for people to affordably spay/neuter their cats, as well as, strays and ferals which compound the problem.

In addition, Beckoning Cat Project provides educational programs, assist with Trap-Neuter-Return, setting up and maintaining feral colonies, fostering, adoptions and other programs designed to work towards a no-kill community.

Beckoning Cat Project is also working in conjunction with other organizations to provide monthly spay/neuter clinics.

We are a small organization and we are always in need of volunteers, foster homes, supplies and monetary donations.

Beckoning Cat Project will adopt to individuals interested in indoor and outdoor cats, barn cats and feral cat communities.

Come Meet our Pets:

Cats for adoption through Beckoning Cat Project are all kept in the homes of our foster volunteers. Arrangements to see our cats must be made in advance. If an individual number is not listed with a cat you are interested in visiting, you may contact our Director, Kerry Perry at 570-971-4592 and she will get your name and number to the appropriate foster volunteer.

Our Adoption Process:

1. Completion of a Cat Adoption Application is required prior to visiting with a cat. This allows us to help place a cat with you that will best fit your living situation.

2. Prior to adopting from Beckoning Cat Project you will be asked to provide the following:
-Name and phone number of landlord
-Name and phone number of vet
-Names and phone numbers from 2 references
- A home visit
-Signing a Cat Adoption Contract.

3. No fees are required to adopt a cat from Beckoning Cat Project, however donations of food, litter or money are always greatly appreciated!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
