Pets at Our Rescue Group:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are a small volunteer rescue group that saves small and medium sized dogs that are in desperate need. They are usually from California and Taiwan. We adopt out dogs to families in the lower mainland area only as we do home visits for each dog. Each dog is placed in a loving foster home while they wait for their family. We allow one week for you and your new pet to see if it is a match with everyone and all pets, and you will receive a full refund if it does not work out. The adoption fee is $350 if the dog is less than five years old. Please email us at westcoastdogrescue@gmail.com for information on adopting or fostering.

About Our Rescue Group:

West Coast Dog Rescue is dedicated to saving small dogs from high kill shelters in California, also small to medium dogs from Taiwan. We bring as many dogs to Vancouver as we can, and this depends on the number of fosters we have. We can always use more fosters. It is a very rewarding experience and we give you all needed food and supplies. We also pay for all vet costs during this time if needed.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

We are saving up for surgeries needed for a toy poodle that has luxating patellas and need to raise 2,000. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.

Come Meet our Pets:

We sometimes have adoption events at a local pet store in Richmond. The last one we had was Feb 22nd in Ironwood's Bosley's.

Our Adoption Process:

When you email us we will respond in a day or two and send you our adoption questions. Your answers help us to see if you are a good match for that dog's personality.
If you are a good match for the dog then we set up a "meet and great" with the dog. We also do a short home visit for each dog's new home. Before the trial adoption we require the adoption fee and signed contract. We give you the shelter papers at this point showing the vaccination and altering record.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
