Three Easy Steps.
1. Fill out an adoption application
2. Schedule meet and greet/home check
3. Pay an adoption fee
$40 cat adoption fee is the general adoption fee which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip.
$50 dog adoption fee is the general adoption fee which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip and heartworm test.
We do not approve declawing and therefore will not adopt a cat out to anyone who approves of such cruel and unneeded practices. Same goes for ear clipping.

Be Your Own Hero Inc is an official 501c3 No-Kill Animal Rescue Organization.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals from all walks of life. Our rescue provides all medical, nutritional, behavioral, and emotional care and support needed for each animal we rescue. Our foster home-based program allows us to provide our rescue animals with a loving home-like environment until they are carefully matched with the perfect adopter. Our registration number is CH39909 and non-program expenses are funded from our own income, so 100% of your donations are tax-deductible and go directly towards the care of our rescued animals. We are a 501 c 3 charity as determined by the IRS.
We believe that all life is sacred and every sentient being deserves a chance to LIVE.

Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.
What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
