Areas Firefighter Dog Rescue serves
We are a small Toronto area dog rescue serving the GTA, involved in finding good homes for dogs we've taken in locally, from Quebec, internationally and from owner surrenders. We also assist other Toronto area rescues in areas such as transport and home checks.

Our adoption process is similar to that of most rescues. Email us and we will send you an Adoption Application form for the dog or dogs you are interested in. If the application is acceptable we will then set up a home check with applicant. Our fee is $400 per dog regardless of our cost. Please bear in mind that our expenses often exceed the $400 we charge. We may discount dogs based on age or medical conditions.

I've been heavily involved in dog rescue the past four years. I spent a great deal of time volunteering with the Humane Society of Durham region as well as a short stint on their Board of Directors. During my time at the Humane Society I worked with over 700 dogs. I assist local dog rescues as well in any ways I can. I have fostered dogs for rescues, done home visits and I have done about 100 animal transports. I recently formed a partnership with Soi Dog of Thailand.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
