Catnip Casa Cat Refuge and Love & Cuddles Pet Respite Care is located in Austin, Texas. We serve Travis and Williamson counties primarily. People within easy driving distance are welcome to apply. We don't ship pets or adopt in locations beyond our reach.
The first step is to contact us and arrange to meet the kitty you want to adopt.
If you decide to proceed, just fill out an application while you are here or by email before you come. Don’t worry, it’s short and simple!
Visit as many times as you want to get to know each other and insure a good fit.
After the application is approved, we both sign a simple adoption agreement.
We also provide medical records, an adoption benefits package with coupons and discounts, a month of free pet insurance, a free veterinary check-up coupon, and any other information you may need.
All of our animals go to their new home with a few familiar toys, bedding, and a sturdy travel crate.
Our adoption process includes follow-up support for the life of your new pet. A free pet proofing consult is also available.
The adoption fee is $35. Of course, additional donations are welcome.

Our goal is to get any pet that comes to us into a loving home. We don't handle large volumes of animals. We handle those that would not be adoptable in shelters. Many of our animals need medical care or rehabilitation due to injury or disease. We gladly work with special needs adopters and also offer foster-to-adopt for special situations.
A few animals will not become adoptable. We are 100% no kill. They will remain in pawspice here.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
