In 2015, Albany Humane Society expanded with the Sally Wetherbee Adoption Center. This state of the art adoption center allows us to save more lives by increasing the number of animals we can offer for adoption - pets that will no longer face euthanasia. It is our first endeavor towards becoming a no-kill shelter and has increased our save rate by 20% since the doors opened in 2016. Come visit us at 2223 Dawson Road in Albany,GA.
Comfort and Freedom
SWAC is an adoption center, only accepting animals from our primary shelter, Albany Humane Society, on Oakridge Drive. Our canine companions enjoy climate controlled kennels and Kuranda beds while our cats enjoy open rooms with plenty of space to hide or lounge with a view of the outdoors. Our outdoor spaces provide the dogs housed here with plenty of enrichment and a place for adopters to get acquainted with their new friends.
Foster or Adopt
At SWAC we house up to 16 dogs and 18 cats on any given day. We provide a space where fosters and adopters can meet our pets and spend time with them. If you are interested in fostering a pet or adopting, please contact us at 229.299.4504 or come by to see who we have in house.
