Tyrone's Info...

I am already neutered, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Tyrone's Story...
Tyrone is a sleek and beautiful, 2- to 3-year-old, neutered male who seems to be mostly blind. He is a fun-loving little guy, maybe 42 lbs, who seems to see shapes and shadows, but does not make eye contact and will run right into a fence. It looks like progressive retinal atrophy, which happens gradually so dogs learn to cope as they gradually rely on their other senses. It would be a great help for him to get into a permanent home before he loses all of his sight. He seems happy and care-free, not afraid or tentative, despite his inability to see well.

An adoption fee may be required which helps cover some of the care and veterinary services provided, including spay for females, neuter for males, vaccinations, de-worming and heartworm testing when age appropriate.

The adoption process begins with an application, which is a tool the Franklin County Humane Society uses to make a good forever home match. PLEASE-- NO PHONE CALLS -- YOUR CALL CANNOT BE RETURNED.

**EMAIL ONLY TO: sylviaam4@aol.com and we'll send you an application and/or answer any questions you might have.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tyrone, a Metamora Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Metamora, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Metamora.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Metamora already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Metamora breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Metamora paves the way for another one to be saved.
