My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baby Patch could just as easily have been named Teddy Bear, he's so velvety soft and wonderful to pet. We chose Patch, however, because of the patches of fur missing on his back and chest. He got these because he was brought in to the shelter after a large dog had bitten him. He's all healed up now and none the worse for the wear, and he still loves dogs both big and small.

We are fairly certain we have his mix down, but we are just guessing as he was turned in to a shelter as a stray. Patch is one of the quietest pups around too, entertaining himself fairly well when he needs to be alone. He is fairly well pad trained and is definitely crate trained and sleeps nearly through the night in it without a peep.

Patch is around 10 weeks old now and will be a large boy. He is a touch on the dominant side already (when playing with another pup here) and needs his people to be calm and assertive with him to help him be the best dog he can be. He is good around children but they should be old enough to learn how to correct him properly, so eight years and up is best. He is still young enough to think cats are just dogs that are much better at jumping.

If you are interested in meeting and potentially adopting Patch please go to our website, throwmeabonedogrescue.org, to complete and submit our application found under "Resources" in the black bar near the top of the home page. You also need to submit pictures of your yard and other areas you would allow him access - be sure we can see your fence line.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed, de-flea'd, is up to date on shots, is spayed/neutered, microchipped, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead & collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
