My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet tiny Haylee is a MJAS alum – she was adopted from us in 2010 by a wonderful retired woman who totally doted on her. We don’t know much about her life prior to 2010 but suspect she wasn’t treated kindly or well. Since 2010, she’s lived in a stable, loving home and her personality blossomed. She is a total velcro dog! Although her owner loved and cared for her greatly, her owner was experiencing decreased mobility and health issues. Unfortunately, her owner recently broke her hip, moved to assisted living and can no longer care for her. Due to her owner’s decreased mobility, she had to relearn potty habits. Her owner’s family invested in a highly recommended trainer for 4 weeks and feels Haylee is now housebroken enough to be adopted. She is able to hold it at night without issue but does need frequent trips outside every few hours during the day to remain consistently housebroken. She needs an owner that will reinforce these positive habits. A retired, stay at home or work at home owner is preferred. Haylee is now believed to be about 8 years old , weighs 13 lbs, walks well on a leash, is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccines and vetting including dental care. She is a low shedding dog and has been regularly groomed, and is just an adorable, sweet and very loving little girl. She wants nothing more than to be close to and loved by you.

Small dogs can live into their upper teens (17-20 years old is not unusual), so this young lady still has plenty of life in her! She does very well with other dogs and children and is currently being fostered in a home with both and a pot-bellied pig! She would most likely ignore cats - she is not the least bit aggressive.
