THIS IS OUR LITTLE ILYSSA....a petite, 9 lb, tri-colored, 2 yr old, Shih Tzu, who has captured all of our hearts at Lhasa Happy Homes. She came to us from Rancho Cucamonga, where they thought she she a luxating patella. Wrong. Our brilliant vet, Dr. Gary Adams, sensed otherwise and we did bloodwork on her. Sure enough, indicators pointed towards a liver shunt and sure enough, that is what she had! Gratefully and happily, Ilyssa has had surgery and it was a complete success and in a month, Ilyssa will be good as new and healthy as a horse! She is the sweetest angel and eats up attention like it's a tasty treat! When you pick her up, she snuggles her head into your neck. Her foster thinks that she was kept ourside and never given much attention, as she can be independent and asks for very little. Of late, she has begun asking to be picked up, she will bring you her bowl when she is hungry and has begun to come alive. Ilyssa is a favorite at Lhasa Happy Homes and we will know next week when she will be able to go home. Once she is adopted, she will not be on any special medications -- she will be good as new!! Her only requirements will be that she be loved and cherished the way she never has been before coming to Lhasa Happy Homes. She would love the companionship of another dog...but your companionship is more important. Kids over 12 yrs old would be okay, but she is more of a couple dog than a "family" dog. Love her like we do :)
Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

Most every Sunday, unless we are doing a special event, we are at Century City Mall (10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles 90067 behind the Concierge Booth near Brooks Bros) from 12-4pm. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!! And don't forget to check out our
