Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you want a lovable, playful, young pup, with a thirst for adventure, and a love of life, Meerkat is your guy. He is about 4 months and 11 lbs of pure love on paws.
Mr. Meerkat is a busy puppy with a lot to get done during the day. He starts the day by showing off with how good he is on a leash. He does very well with other dogs and loves to play tag with his foster brother and chase leaves in the wind and balls rolling across the floor. He is a curious little guy and loves to see what is going on and be a part of the action. When home alone he stays behind a child gate in a room with a few toys and he sleeps well in a crate during the night! He is getting better every day with housebreaking and he has been learning to vocalize when he is ready to go outside. He hasn't had much experience with kids or cats yet, but this inquisitive little guy is open to every adventure!
Meerkat loves to be held, snuggle, and give kisses. He does well in the car, and will stay in his own seat, although he would much prefer to sit in your lap and look out the window. Loud noises get his attention, but they don't scare him, and he has held his own when the big vacuum or broom come out.
Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom & dad are!), we are guessing on breed and size when grown.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis.
If you are interested in meeting this dog or pup please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday January 25, 2014, TBA - Minneapolis, MN. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend.
