Thurman's Story...
We have so many cuties here at the shelter that it's hard to choose just a few each day to feature here, but this guy deserves special recognition.

Thurman was picked up as a stray in Trumbull County and taken to the dog pound where he was so scared that volunteers weren't sure if he knew how to walk on a leash at first. And when the pound got down to their last open kennel, Thurman's situation went from bad to desperate.

That's where we came in. New Lease on Life took in this handsome guy, and his turnaround has been amazing.

Goodbye, shy dog...... hello, happy and curious dog!

This expression says it all. When you talk to Thurman, he always tilted his head to listen, and he's very interested in everything you have to say.

He LOVES to go on walks and gets very excited when he sees the leash. He's also fully housebroken, and even at the shelter, he hasn't had any accidents.

You can meet Thurman at the Adoption Center Monday through Saturday 1pm to 7pm. He's full grown at 35 pounds and 4 years old. You can reserved him now for your family, and he'll be ready to go home in just a few days after his neuter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thurman, a Struthers Feist dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Feist for sale in Struthers, or seeking a Feist dog from a breeder in Struthers.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Struthers already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Struthers breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Feist breeders who help with Feist rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Struthers paves the way for another one to be saved.
