My story

Black Lab fans, here is Missy! Eight years old and 65 lbs of love.

Dusty Paws rescued Missy from a rural shelter. She was, and still is, a special needs dog, with kidneys about 25% functional. While in her foster home she has been taking medicine and special food that she will continue to require for the rest of her life. She was re-tested after a 6 month trial period and we are pleased to report that the meds and food are doing the job to stabilize her condition.

Missy has no idea she has kidney trouble and neither would you from looking at her. At age eight, she seems very youthful. She has a great appetite. Missy is good with other dogs and fine with men, women and children. She is enthusiastic and playful, but is good about not jumping up on people.

Missy is house-trained, crate-trained and sleeps on her bed in her foster parents' room. She is very sweet and enjoys cuddling and petting. Missy loves to play fetch and squirrel watch. She is very interested in little creatures that move quickly, so should be in a home with no cats.
