My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ginger is a 5 year old female beagle who had been let down by her prior owners. Ginger was a foster dog with our organization and adopted out several years ago, only to be dumped again because her owners decided to have a baby. Guess they did not realize that having a baby meant that you could not have a sweet girl like Ginger also? Ginger is looking for a family that will love her and never let her down. She is an adorable red + white beagle, who is overweight at about 30 lbs. A little chunky for a 14 inch girl! Her foster family has put her on a diet and soon she will have regained her girlish figure! She'd love to be your walking companion, and exercise together!

Ginger is a sweet girl who loves to cuddle. If you are sitting down watching TV, she wants to be cuddled up by your side. She will also follow you around the house. At the age of 5, Ginger is past the chewing stage and has not chewed on anything that was not hers. She likes stuffed squeaky toys, but does not get overly excited with them. She will chase a toy or ball, but will not always bring it back.

This easy-going beagle gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, but is not much of a player. She much prefers the attention of her people. She absolutely loves to go on walks and will start bouncing when the harnesses and leashes come out. She also loves the doggie park and will start voicing her excitement when you pull into the parking lot. At the park, she is not much interested in the other dogs, but loves to meet all of the people there. She would be a wonderful greeter if only she could go to "work" with her humans!

Although crated for way too long in her former home, Ginger is now allowed to be loose in the house at her foster home. She will take her good treats into an open crate to munch on them in private and will sometimes hang out in an open crate when her foster mom is working in the kitchen, but does not require a crate at all. She is house trained and has free reign of the house when her foster parents are at work. She uses a dog door to go outside as needed when her foster parents are home. Ginger likes to snuggle up to you at night and sleeps all night without moving.

Sweet Ginger would love to have a family which will spend time playing with her and loving her. She would be fine as the only dog, but is tolerant of other dogs. If you think this lovely beagle girl will fit in with your family, please fill out an application at our website so you can meet her.
