Dakota's Story...
Meet Dakota! He's one cool customer, doesn't let anything or anyone get him riled up, tolerates just about anything and loves everyone. Maybe it's because he's seen a lot in his 7+ years and he's just looking for someone to love and a quiet life. Dakota is good with other dogs, kids, even adults! He came into the shelter as a stray, and there are a few clues to the life he's led...his tail is bobbed, his front lower teeth are worn down from chewing on something, perhaps a chain. But now, he's a happy, perfect gentleman!

If you'd like to meet this marvelous man, please drop us a line at adopt@nokill-louisville.com Thanks for looking!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Louisville Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Louisville, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Louisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Louisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Louisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Louisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
