Abner's Story...
During his short year of life this poor little guy has endured an enormous amount of neglect. Left to roam the streets on his own, Abner was found with painful mats all over this body which left him almost lifeless. With the painful mats now removed from his frail body, Abner is letting his true personality shine. He is a lovable guy who enjoys having toys to play with and people to spend time with. He will do best in a home with no small children and if there is a feline resident, they will need to be tolerant with this very playful guy! Please take a moment to meet Abner, he looks forward to meeting a new potential family that will love and care for him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abner, a Muskegon Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Muskegon, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Muskegon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Muskegon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Muskegon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Muskegon paves the way for another one to be saved.
