Amethyst's Story...
Amethyst, female, 2 years, DSH, black

Amethyst was rescued from Animal Control where she was less than 24 hours away from euthanasia. Amethyst is a little scared/shy in new situations and around new people. She may find a hiding spot in new environments until she gets comfortable. Once she warms up, she enjoys lots of hugs, pets, and doesn't mind to be held. Amethyst does well with other cats. Her foster brothers often snuggle up to her and she seems to enjoy their company. Amethyst loves to look out the window and she will sit for long periods of time enjoying the activities of the outside environment. Amethyst is a small cat. She has beautiful silky fur and she is in good health. Amethyst has the most amazing "gazing-ball" greenish-blue eyes. She is absolutely gorgeous.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amethyst, a O'Fallon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in O'Fallon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in O'Fallon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in O'Fallon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a O'Fallon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in O'Fallon paves the way for another one to be saved.
