Name/Nicknames: Josie

My Story: Josie has been with Pet Haven for quite some time now, and over this time she has matured into a well behaved dog. She has completed Obedience Level 1 Training, and has continued to learn new tricks. Josie is also trained on an invisible fence. She can be super excited when meeting new people or dogs, but after that it is cuddle or play.

Hobbies: Josie is active outdoors and will run all day if there is someone wither her (human or dog), however when she is indoors it is a whole new Josie. She becomes a couch potato that loves to cuddle. She will travel everywhere with you, if you want. She sits on my front seat when it is just the two of use, but is just as happy in the back seat.

Commands/Tricks: She now knows Sit, Down, Stay, Come, and can roll over and shake. We are working on dancing, sit pretty, and Bang your dead.

Crate / Potty Trained: Yes to both! Josie's only accident was in the morning when her fosters didn't recognize her "I have to go" signals. She does fine in a crate but she has also been given free roam of the house while her fosters were gone. She is not used to spending long hours alone, although she should do fine for a regular workday.

Activity Level: Medium to Low - Josie is a semi-active girl that likes to go for walks and play, but if cuddling is an option she is more then happy to curl up in your lap and relax!!

Socialization/who I currently live with: Josie currently lives with an adult male and female, and their 3 year old daughter. She also lives with an adult male American Bulldog and adult female Pit Bull Terrier mix and she gets along with both of them. She has daily exposure to the foster's neighbor, who is an adult female and has two small bichons.

My Ideal Family: Josie would do best with a semi-active family; one that goes for daily walks or enjoys outdoor activities. Josie is great with kids, from one to a large group at the house. She will lay on the couch with her foster's daughter, who sometimes is laying on Josie or using her as a pillow. She greets other dogs just fine and does not react to a growling dog, except to play! She is not good with small animals that are not introduced properly, meaning squirrels, rabbits, and any other such animal stays out of our yard now. She has not been cat tested, but does not react to them in pet stores. She shows interest/curiosity near the ferrets and other animals at the pet stores.

Josie is attending Pet Haven's medium/large dog adoption events and her adoption fee is $300 (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
