My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shamay is a young female, with nice Badger markings looking for a new home. She is thought to be 1-2 years old. Her age isn’t certain because she was rescued from the side of the road near Henderson, MN in February, 2013. She is up to date on all her shots, microchipped and spayed. Shamay has been surrendered to NorthStar because her owner is moving out of state and cannot take Shamay with her. She is great with children, loving and gentle, and with cats. She is also good if alone in the house and yard. She will not try and escape from the yard by climbing or digging. She is not afraid of loud noises. Shamay is housetrained and leash trained. She likes going on walks, being petted and chewing on bones. Shamay is not overly fond of the German Shepherds in her current home and would likely be happiest in a home without another large dog. She is also currently overweight and her vet feels she would benefit from a weight loss regime (less food and a more active lifestyle than she currently has). Shamay’s new home will continue to keep her as an indoor family pet with access to a secure, visibly fenced yard for outside time.

An adoption application, site visit, and an adoption fee are required to adopt Shamay.
