Gracie's Story...
Gracie is very gentle and sweet. She is a little shy but the reason for that could be that she had no attention paid to her before coming to 2nd Chance . She was in a rescue that kept her in a crate all the time and rarely if any time take her out to do her business. For this reason she is a little difficult to crate train because that is all she knew or had been taught. Her feet became very sore from having to stand in the mess that she could not control. When she came to 2nd Chance she was so hungry and ate allot. She now knows that the food will always be there and she can have as much as she wants. She now enjoys any attention that she might get. She likes to come up to you and hide her head in your lap.
Gracie is about 5 years old and weighs about 55 lbs. She would like to have a chance to be part of your family. Gracie's mother was a purebred border collie. The father is unknown.

We now have indoor/outdoor kennels. Gracie has never made a mess on the inside. She always goes out to do her business.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie, a Hillsboro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Hillsboro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Hillsboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hillsboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hillsboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hillsboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
