Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hunter has a sad story, but you would NEVER know it by his happy personality! Hunter is always smiling and loves the camera! Hunter was abandoned by some heartless person and left to die locked in a crate in the woods. A park ranger found him and took him to a rural southern shelter where he was on a list to be euthanized for space when no one came looking for him. Thankfully, his ordeal has not affected his sweet personality or his health.
Hunter's breed mix is anyone's guess, but the shelter told us Golden Retriever and Pomeranian. We think he is his own breed of adorable! He will not be large, as he is full grown, estimated to be about 3 years old, and weighs 30 lbs.
Hunter has a medium length soft reddish coat. He is a snuggly little guy that wants to be petted and really wants a family to call his own. He will do find in a house as the only dog. He has not been tested with cats so we can't say how he would do. He does get along with most other dogs with proper introductions but he also can be quick to stand his ground and growl if he does not want another dog near. He has shown absolutely no signs of aggression at all with any humans.
Hunter is now in a loving foster home where he is being spoiled and pampered and is learning how to be a good inside dog. He would benefit from basic training but his sweet, happy, loving temperament carries him a long way!
Hunter has had a basic veterinary exam, is fully vaccinated, is heartworm negative and microchipped, and is currently on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
