My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ODIN UPDATE: Dec 28. Odin is back from vet, now in foster care. He is 4-1/2 years old and weighs 11 pounds. He is recovering just wonderfully, Foster Mom reports that he is mellow, but curious, and such a sweetie. He is a keeper!!

Odin was found as a stray in early November in Kelso, WA. He spent time in shelter but was never claimed. Dachshund lover Debbie saw him on the shelter website and went to visit him several times. He has a lovely temperament and is very mellow, sweet and loving. He has not been well cared for. Now with Oregon Dachshund Rescue, but needing to spend several days at vet to have things all taken care of, including neuter and dental surgery. He is recovering from UTI, and has dry eye, so will continue to need eyedrops twice a day. This guy deserves love and a forever home.

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give him a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
