Aria's Story...
One day, 3 small dogs were put into a pet carrier, taken to a local vet, and told, "put them down." Then the owner walked away. That is the beginning of Aria's story as we know it. She was taken with 2 other small dogs to Colbert County Animal Shelter, which had just been hit with 122 dogs from a massive hoarding case. Aria's chances were not good. That's where we came in! One of the 3 was adopted, and Aria and a little male, Baxter, came to Black Bear Animal Rescue to be given medical care, love, stability, and the opportunity to be adopted.

Aria is a precious little girl, weighing only 12.5 lbs. She has a very cute naturally cropped tail, and she is a young dog, approximately 2 years old. She does the CUTEST little ballerina dance for a treat you've ever seen. She is a salt and pepper wire-haired dog that loves to snuggle. Housebroken, crate trained, and absolutely adorable. Aria likes dogs that don't overwhelm her, so overly dominant dogs might not be a good match. Cats are an unknown, but she is a really laid back girl, she'd likely do fine. She rides in a car like a champ!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Aria, a Hartsville Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Hartsville, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Hartsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hartsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hartsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hartsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
