Coal's Story...
Coal is a sweet, Long Hair Chihuahua that lived with a breeder for 6 years. He was kept in a back storage shed in a cage and never a part of a family. We were lucky enough to get him and shocked by how sweet and happy he is despite a less than stellar life. Coal loves to play and enjoys the company of other dogs. He is somewhat shy when you hold him and offers gentle kisses to show his gratitude to whomever is loving him at that moment. He is not a barker and I've never heard him make a peep. He is learning to potty outside and use pee pads and doesn't potty in his kennel which I rarely put him in after he's had to live his life in one. Coal is fully vetted, heartworm negative and ready for a life of love and luxury. We are hoping to find him the best home there is so that he can be spoiled and happy for many years to come. Adoption fee is $150.00 for this pet. This generally includes age appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, a wellness exam, dewormer, fecal, hw and flea preventative that is given while in our care, microchip and sometimes registration depending on the company, as well as any other medications or procedures needed while in our care. email for an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Coal, a Metairie Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Metairie, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Metairie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Metairie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Metairie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Metairie paves the way for another one to be saved.
