Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Weight: 60 lbs
Variety: Bench
This handsome boy with the beautiful ticking on his muzzle and legs is Dexter! He is a very smart dog. He is crate trained and housetrained, and he knows the commands Sit, Stay, Come, No, Drop It, and Leave It. Dexter needs consistency in his life, along with an experienced dog owner who will continue his training. He is very eager to please and is highly motivated by treats, so working with him should not be difficult.
Dexter rides nicely in the car. He is social with both dogs and cats. Dexter will play with the youngest resident Springer in his foster home, but he really prefers to play ball with his humans. When he is put into his kennel, he will howl at first, but then he settles down nicely.
What Dexter wants and needs most is affection from and interaction with his humans. He is just begging for attention, and this is shown in his eyes and by his actions. For instance, if you stop petting him, he will get up and nudge your hand until you start again. If you are looking for a loyal, loving companion who wants to be your best friend, and if you are willing to give him the guidance and structure he needs, then Dexter may be the perfect match for you! Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Dexter.
