Wyatt is a one and a half to two-year-old, 13 lb. Papillion/Spaniel mix who is a very loving and affectionate. He is an active little guy when playing but afterwards quiet. He is a great little buddy who will hang out with you, go on car rides with you, sit with you, and even sleep in your bed with you. He likes to be on your lap or next to you whenever he can. Wyatt is essentially a companion dog or a lap dog. However, take him to a dog park and he will play and make friends easily until completely worn out. He shows no aggression with other dogs, even those who are a bit more dominant. Though Wyatt is generally calm and quiet, he does have some spunk as a dog; he loves to chase and bark at squirrels and birds that come into the yard. However, he is not just out barking for no reason. Wyatt took about 1-2 days in his new foster home to relax to the new environment. He took about 4-5 days to settle into the routine and his personality began to come out. For example, the first day, he whined just a little, and barked just a little, when first crated. By the second day he was fine.

Wyatt is potty-trained, (however potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment) and also crate-trained, but prefers to sleep with the other dogs in the house or with the people. He walks well on the leash using a training collar but does not like a small harness. A regular collar will not do as he can squirm out of it and it provides no correction ability. He is usually a calm dog but when he knows he is going to the dog park, he gets very excited.

Wyatt lives in a foster home with 3 dogs (one large Golden Retriever and a Min Pin and a Westie) and one cat. The cat stays away but Wyatt shows no sign of aggression to the cat, just excitement. He is fine with other dogs and has also lived in a larger pack at the rescue’s main location. He would do best with another dog his size in the home. We have not had Wyatt around children but it seems he would do fine with kids.

Wyatt is neutered, de-wormed, vaccinated including rabies, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Wyatt, please contact Janet Cook of the Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316.
