My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buster is a 7 year old brindle boy who came to GREAT when his former owners surrendered him to us due to deployment overseas. As a former pet, he already knows many of the ins and outs of home living and knows quite a few basic commands. As he is acclimating to his new surroundings, he is showing himself to be a very affectionate, outgoing, and loving dog. He loves to go for walks and shows his anticipation by doing a little "happy dance" whenever I grab the leashes, but he does tend to pull a bit and could use some work in this area.



He gets along and interacts well with his 3 greyhound foster brothers and he loves the human attention when the neighbor comes over to the fence to pet and talk to him. He is fully crate trained and goes in voluntarily when told to do so, and also goes into the crate when he just wants a little alone time. During the week, he is left in the crate for up to 10 hours while his foster dad is at work and, although he's happy to get out, he handles it very well.



He has not yet been cat tested but based on his reaction to the neighborhood cats he encounters on our walks, he would probably do best in a home without cats. Buster is slightly smaller than the average male greyhound and could be considered somewhat high energy by greyhound standards but, like all greys, he is still very much the couch potato!
